Our Fishing Machine the “Paddy Wagon”
Dorado Custom Boats of Clearwater Fl built our charter boat F/V “Paddy Wagon”! carries a Gulf of Mexico Charter Reef Fish and a Gulf of Mexico Charter Pelagic Fish Federal permits. Charter Fishing past 9 miles from Florida’s gulf coast Shoreline requires these permits.
The Paddy Wagon was once operated and used by Federal Law Enforcement. This is where her name comes from. Powered by a single 450hp Cummins Marine QSC diesel engine she is both efficient and reliable. The Paddy Wagon was recently refit with an all new state of the art electronics package in 2021. Some of the upgrades included, but are not limited to, are Furuno TZT3 16″ and 12″ MFDs, DRS4 solid state radar, SX20 satellite compass, Simrad autopilot , DFF3D multibeam sonar, and three new transducers. This vessel is ready for the serious angler or beginner with built in air conditioning for both the pilothouse and v-birth. The v-birth layout gives plenty of room to stand or sit while using our always clean electric marine head.
Being a 6 passenger vessel, just shy of 42′, with an 13 foot beam, she will get us out to the fishing grounds in comfort with plenty of room! We have always enjoyed providing as much shade as we can while fishing, and this boat makes no exceptions! Just aft of the pilothouse is a custom fiberglass hard top that shades about half of the back fishing deck. All of our safety equipment is in top shape including our Offshore EPIRB and Lifejackets.
We also pride ourselves in using top of the line tackle- some of which include Penn reels, Accurate reels, Avet reels, Okuma reels, Star Rods, St. Croix Rods, Owner and Gamakatsu hooks, and Seaguar florocarbine leader.
